We are now rolling out the SignVideo interpreting service (sign language interpreting services accessed via a video/webcam link) from its original remit (London) to the rest of the UK. This service enables care service providers to communicate effectively and easily with their deaf clients and also offers the opportunity for deaf people to communicate independently to anyone who comes and visit them. This is innovative as it uses video technology to reduce isolation and the average cost savings over a face to face sign language interpreter is over 50% and it reduces the carbon footprint as the interpreter does not have to travel to get to the deaf person.
