We had a great first Festival of Ideas yesterday, looking at innovation for independent living. Thank you to all who attended - there will be much more content on the site about the event as soon as we can get it to you. In the meantime, I had an article in the Guardian yesterday, seeking to explain the events by focusing on one of the participants, Stars in the Sky, a dating agency for people with learning difficulties. I hope that they and many other third sector innovators will be encouraged by yesterday and boosted by the connections they made.
Join in the conversation, find new resources and contacts, and shape the future of the Exchange. Together we can turn wicked issues into good news stories.

John: It was an interesting day - it just felt like a different kind of angle at which to come to new ideas in relation to the Third Sector. Our own ‘idea’, using Assistive Technology in the context of a family assessment centre for parents with learning disabilities is exciting, not because of the ‘technology’ (though it has huge potential) but because it is purposeful - enabling and creating real opportunities for a disabled parent who is in danger of losing their independence in the community to gain support to assist them in staying together as a family. The fact that ‘new technology’ can enhance such aims is cutting edge. It was good to go to the Festival yesterday and feel listened to. There were also plenty of other ideas around to bounce off of. Thanks.
