Where is the need for this project?

East London Food Access (ELFA) delivers fresh fruit and vegetables to residents on housing estates across Hackney where no other access to fresh food exists. Many of their services reach elderly and disabled people, enabling them to continue to live independently in their own homes. They engage people who often have little contact with other services, sign-posting their customers to other sources of support and advice.

Where do you hope this project can go?

ELFA have developed their service as a sustainable social enterprise, independent of public subsidy. They are now seeking to expand their services through contracts with local public sector organisations and businesses in order to take their vision of healthy food and healthy estates nationwide.
